Can you point me to something to read or listen to that I can share with a friend to explain why we should not lay hands on our friends to pray over them. I have heard on your show that is not licit.

Under laying on of hands in Strong’s Bible Concordance you will never find one equal (lay person) laying hands upon another equal (lay person). The one’s that will lay hands in both Testaments over someone in prayer are those in spiritual authority either by being directly appointed by God or by delegation from those who have Gods authority (such as the Prophets or Apostles).
At prayer meetings led by lay people, I prefer not touching as I have seen demonic transference take place via skin-to-skin contact if the person is diabolically afflicted. It’s better to lead them to use the imprecatory form of prayer for themselves, also, have then do severing of spirits prayers, and renunciations for themselves. If there is any bodily contact, it is best to have a crucifix or rosary in the hand to act as a barrier.
However, at the Holy Saturday Mass the sponsors put their right hand on the shoulder of the candidate as the sponsor stands behind their candidate, it’s in the rubrics (Rite of Confirmation #26). It’s says: “The one who presented the candidate places his right hand on the latter’s shoulder and gives the candidates name to the Bishop.” This occurs at the Novus Ordo Mass and the TLM. Notice, the sponsors are to lay their right hands on the shoulder which is their oath swearing hand. This indicates that the sponsor is making a commitment to provide spiritual guidance to the confirmed. The purpose during the Liturgy is not to bless or drives out demons, but it is to show solidarity and fraternity.
