What Is Reconciliation?

January 3, 2025

Reconciliation is inseparable from the death of Christ.  That is important to understand.  In other words, we never have reconciliation without the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord.  For example, Romans 5:10:  “For if we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of his Son”  Again, 2 Corinthians 5:14: “For the love of Christ leaves us no choice, when once we have reached the conclusion that one man died for all and therefore mankind has died.  His purpose in dying for us was that all men, while still in life, should cease to live for themselves, and should live for Him who for their sake died and was raised to life.”  Then again in Colossians 1:22: “But now by Christ's death in His body of flesh and blood God has reconciled you to Himself so that He may present you before Himself as dedicated men without blemish and innocent in his sight.” Reconciliation therefore comes through redemption.
