ANSWER! / COMMENT!

My husband converted after 35 years marriage. We were married in the Catholic Church.

Trust God!!!  Stay faithful. God’s ‘time’ I always told him it was his decision.

I grew in faith, trust and understanding of my faith and struggled with questions he would raise. I needed to let my husband lead and grow in his faith. He always had a deep love of Christ. But, would question everything especially Confession. I would ask him to pray with me, after we were married He would say “I go to my private place to pray…” quoting scripture. He read the King James Version of the Bible multiple times. He told our sons to go to Church, but he stopped going himself. It’s very difficult to have the man lead the Faith, praying, blessing and teaching. It’s easier to criticize. I had to learn how to support my husband’s leadership while staying faithful. He would seem to make fun of me at times. Example: When he was listening to election returns and they would say a Hail Mary I would join in when I was asleep. I learned to smile and recognize that he actually was “proud” that I did. He would tell everyone.

After a near death event he suddenly asked me to call the priest for anointing.

He converted in 3 months. He wanted our home Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary so we did.  I had waited for him. He and his confirmation sponsor started a Defend the Faith group at church. We listened to Bible in a Year and Catechism in a year together. He continued to ask deep questions. I learned to thank God for every single day. The last few years of his life I brought him Communion. Having him lead our home in prayer and blessing was a great gift. The rosary was hard for him, but the night before he died he asked me to pray the rosary with/for him. All the decades and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

By the way: I am reading “Preparation for Death” by St Alphonsus Liguori he talks about ‘time’ as a treasure of the earth. So true!

So many more graces and stories!!!

God bless you,

Thanks for all you do Jesse,
