A Woman Clothed With The Sun
The Church then has had a virgin birth. As we lose our respect for the virgin birth of Christ, we lose our respect for the virgin birth of the Church. We no longer understand her as the bride of Christ. When we get to heaven, in what celebration are we going to assist? Nuptials: the marriage of the Lamb. In the twelfth chapter of the book of Revelation we have another image of the Blessed Mother in the constant struggle of the Church, or the bride, with the devil. “And there appeared a great portent in heaven, a woman robed with the sun, beneath her feet the moon and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant and in the anguish of her labor she cried out to be delivered.” The original Greek is in the present tense. Even in the book of Revelation the Blessed Mother is always bringing forth children. That’s the Church.”
