Will There be a final exorcism of evil by Christ?

October 5, 2018

The Book of Revelation contains the story of both the first exorism (see Question 1 above) and the last series of exorcisms of the world's possessing spirits (Rev 20:11-15), and we should pay close attention to these in order to bolster our faith and chasten our desire for sin.  Although His patience is infinite and directed toward our salvation, in the end, God will not be mocked or rejected.  He does not deal lightly with the devil or his unreprentant companions, be they human or angelic.

The final exorcism of evil from the world is at the end of time when the old world passes away and when "new heavens and a new earth" are given to those whose names are written in the Book of the Lamb.  The devil has already been judged at Calvary according to the Gospel of John.  In the final exorcism, the devil will join the false prophet and the beast that were cast down there before him into the pool of fire.  Then Jesus will judge all human beings who reject God and refuse to worship Him.  Following these, death itself will be judged and together with the nether world, will be also thrown into the pool of fire, the second and definitive death.  There is no more evil to cast out then.  All creation will thus be purified of its evil.  In that final episode, Christ Himself will be the exorcist.

We have been forewarned.
