Will Protestants go to heaven?

What is the Church’s view of other faiths. Will they be admitted into heaven, i.e. Baptist, Evangelical, Pentecostals etc?

ANSWER!

The answer is in paragraph 846, 847 & 848. Paragraph 848 says: “Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own are ignorant of the Gospel…” The word ‘ignorant’ is explained further in the Summa Theologica q.76. Vincible and invincible ignorance is explained in: John 9:41, 15:22 & Luke 12:48.

St Thomas Aquinas also defined ‘vincible’ & ‘invincible’ ignorance: “Consequently ignorance of such like things is called ‘invincible,’ because it cannot be overcome by study…since it is not in our power to be rid of it, is not a sin. On the other hand, ‘vincible ignorance’ is a sin, if it be about matters one is bound to know” http://www.newadvent.org/summa/2076.htm. We will be judged in proportion to the truth that we have received in our lifetime - and the fullness of TRUTH IS CHRIST. We Catholics have a missionary mandate to evangelize everybody outside the Catholic Church (CCC 848-849).
