WILL A PERSON GO TO HELL IF HE IS POSSESSED? WHAT IF HE DIES POSSESSED?

Will a person go to hell if he is possessed? What if he dies possessed?

Objectively speaking, a possessed person has about as much chance of going to hell as anyone else because both heaven and hell are a matter of an individual's free decision, and the individual can always make the choice for God, even while possessed.  The devil cannot force a person to reject God.  A possessed person, however, will labor under a much greater burden of choice because the demon inside his body incessantly tempts him to reject God in despair of salvation with an intensity that nonpossessed people rarely understand.

If a person dies in a possessed state, he can be saved for the same reason.  Like any of us, his salvation depends on the decision of his free will which becomes fixed for all eternity at the time of death.  God may allow the possession of bodies in order to purify the souls of his chosen ones.  Therefore, while we never wish a person to die possessed, one who does so is not necessarily dammned; death can be the definitive casting out of the demon from his body.
