WHAT TO DO WHEN A SPOUSE IS DIABOLICALLY AFFLICTED

QUESTION?

I'm in desperate need of guidance! I value all your thoughts and opinions and I’m hoping you can give me some kind of direction. My husband is suffering with extreme alcoholism and also has a history with the occult (wigi board, even idealized Lucifer) in his teenage years.  Recently in his drunk states he’s had episodes of screaming for something or someone to get the ---- away from him, and to leave him alone, to the point he’s in tears!

ANSWER!

Your husband is diabolically afflicted without a doubt. Living in mortal sin, dialing up demons with a ouija board and addiction to alcoholism.

QUESTION?

My son and I prayed over him and pour holy water on and around him but these things continue to happen!

ANSWER!

You can't pray OVER him because you are his wife, you are subordinate to him which means you are "under his mission" (its a military term). You can pray for his conversion through prayers of supplication & petition such as the holy rosary and the chaplet of divine mercy. You can pray healing and deliverance prayer for your husband (not over him), your prayers must always start with: Lord, please heal my husband...no "I order you evil spirit of alcoholism to leave my husband." You would be outside your lane of authority to pray the latter, praying for God to do the healing and deliverance is a perfect way for a wife to pray for her husband.

QUESTION?

Even to me when I feel an evil presence over me as I sleep and with my kids when they feel scared and don’t understand why they are scared to walk down the hallway! I know there is some horrible presence in my home and I need it out! My parish priest and my parish is primarily spanish speaking and I’m not so it’s so hard to ask for help that way. Any advice would be graciously appreciated.

ANSWER!

The evil spirit that is in the house is attracted to your husband and has been invited by your husband. Your husband has the requisite authority to drive the demon out of the house because he is the head of the house. That would mean he would have to stop drinking and radically embrace and live out his Catholic faith and this way he can drive the demon out with his patriarchal authority as head of the house. Demons retaliate when they see usurpation of authority, that is when you are trying to drive demons out of your husband and out of your house independent of your husband.

Here is a wife's prescription for an unconverted husband: Our Lord told St Faustina  “If you say this prayer (the Divine Mercy), with a contrite heart and with faith, on behalf of some sinner I will give that soul the grace of conversion” - https://www.divinemercy.org/elements-of-divine-mercy/3-o-clock-prayer/10...

Also, pray the rosary everyday for your husband so that your prayers can ‘merit for him the grace of conversion.’ Our Lady says in promise no.11 (of the Fifteen Promises of the Rosary).  "You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary."  If you live in a state of grace you are personally protected from the diabolical, your tears, pain and suffering for your husband are meant to purify you and make you a saint. Your prayers become more efficacious as you become holier (cf. James 5:16) and your role is to pray, do penance and suffer for the conversion of your husband (cf. 1 Cor 7:14, 16 “For the unbelieving husband is consecrated through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is consecrated through her husband…
Wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?). Through our suffering we distribute graces to other people in the body of Christ. This is why, when Our Lady appeared to the children of Fatima she said “many souls go to hell because no one prays for them” https://www.catholiceducation.org/en/religion-and-philosophy/catholic-fa..."Pray much and make sacrifices for sinners, for many souls go to hell because there is no one to make sacrifices for them” - http://www.rosary-center.org/fatimams.htm. Prayers of supplication are the most effective prayers for a woman (cf. Matthew 15:21-28) This woman had a lot going against her. The Canaanites were viewed extremely poorly by the Israelites. She begged Jesus to heal her possessed daughter – and His disciples called her an annoyance. Yet she continued to cry out to Christ. She knew that He was God and she did not let the others around her to cause her faith to stumble. Jesus healed her daughter; Luke 2:36-38 We are not told in Scripture what Anna prayed for. But we know that she prayed for many, many years day and night. The Lord blessed her faithfulness and allowed her to be one of the very first people to see and recognize that the baby Jesus was the Messiah.

Your prayers are most powerful when you are 1. in a state of grace (cf. James 5:16), 2. you do have rights over his body, not over him (cf. 1 Cor 7:4) your prayers are specific (cf. Matt 7:7) and your prayers are in accord with Gods will (cf Matt 6:10).
