QUESTION?
In line with the teaching of the Catholic Church, how did evil or Satan come to be?
ANSWER!
God created a good angel named 'Lucifer' who rebelled by his own free will against God and his plan of salvation and was thrown out of heaven by St Michael the archangel in a battle. He is now on earth and he is known as Satan (means 'adversary') or the Devil (means 'slanderer' or 'divider').
