STAY IN YOUR LANE AND PRAY FOR YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS!

 QUESTION?

My sister-in-law is fully involved in practicing Santeria.  Her husband and mother-in-law sacrifice animals on my father-in-laws property.  As a result the family is divided and my father-in-law is torn.  Every time he’s asked to tell her to stop, he seems afraid.  He has yet had the courage to do that.  Recently, I spoke to him about the church and our religion and he became a bit angry and refused to let me talk.  He is going through a lot, and refuses to turn to God. My husband and I want to help his family and convert to Jesus. How can we help them?

ANSWER!

It sounds like they are stuck in their sin and they are content with their life. You want to change them but:

A. You have no authority over them.

B. Nobody has the power to change another persons behavior not even God, he will not force a sinner to follow him.

What you can do is pray for those family members of yours just like the Bible says we should (cf. 1 Tim 2:1-2). Its called intercessory prayer, like the rosary, the divine mercy, the dolorosary and the chaplet to St Michael the Archangel. Your prayers are for God to provide them the grace of conversion, the rest is up to your family, to receive that grace and open their hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ and change their lives.
