Spiritual Direction

Question:

Jesse, I have a question about a recent lady that was introduced to me via phone, in a Bible study group last week. We did a prayer enthronement consecration for our homes via telephone, while she prayed and we replied. I believe that she got the prayers from the book: “Unbound.

Answer: 

The only person that could do the Sacred Heart Enthronement of a house is a Catholic Priest or the Father, Husband of the house. I haven’t read this book yet. The book Unbound has been criticized heavily for its errors by two leading Exorcist - Fr Chad Ripperger and Mgsr Stephen Rosetti.

Question:

She said that she is a Diocesan “lay” witness (like you), who is always called to be in person, for exorcisms. Like what you do. She also said that she has special “certification” to recite some powerful exorcism prayers. I’ve never heard of a lay person having this type of certification. But I don’t know. That’s one question for you. Is this possible? 

Answer!

Their is no such thing as certification to recite exorcism prayers. Some exorcism prayers are prohibited to lay people by the Magisterium of the Church.

Question:

Another thing, I spoke to her 1:1 the day on the phone, to spoke to her about my spiritual experiences. Some good and some not good (good & scary ones). Things that I’ve seen, heard and even felt. She said that she prayed before meeting with me on the phone. For discernment about our conversation. I told her everything spiritual that’s happened to me from childhood to adult. She was like wow! Then she started to tell me a prophecy about my life, like: I see you married (I’m presently divorced), leading 1,000’s in prayer with your testimony etc. God is going to use you big!  That’s why the spiritual attacks.  Jesse, I’m not sure if she was suppose to do this?  This is my second question? She was a former Protestant who converted to Catholicism, to prove her husband wrong, she read her way to the truth.  I You-tubed her and saw a video with her (very hard) testimony.

Answer:

I don't put any credence in people who give a personal prophecy about ones life. Only God knows with absolute assurance what lies in the future for everyone. 

Question:

She told me that she’s visited Rome, the Vatican a few times, and has even given classes to seminarians over there.  Also, that she has met Fr. Gabriel Amorth in person and spoke to him about exorcisms. Jesse, I just want to know if this lady is legit? Is there anyway of checking? The things she said, actually ring true to my heart, but I haven’t told anyone before. I’ve never met her in person. Before proceeding further communication with this “nice” lady, how can I know that she is legit for spiritual direction?

I don't know anything about her at all.

Question:

A little about me, I consider myself a traditional Catholic who is striving for holiness. I had a hurtful past, but through the grace of God & His mercy, I overcame it and now want to help other souls get to heaven. I attend Latin Mass and confess often, plus the other sacraments. So far, praying the rosary daily and reading / praying the prayers from your great book: “Lord, Prepare Me For Battle.”  Love it!  If you have a moment of your precious time to answer these questions, I would really appreciate it!
