MARRIAGE RESOURCES
QUESTION? / COMMENT!
My sister is literally trapped in an awful marriage and I fear for her life and the lives of my nieces. Her husband is abusive both physically and emotionally. He gets drunk nearly every night, smokes pot and has even trafficked her out to another man several years ago. She can not financially support herself and they have a severely autistic daughter that is 17. She is not potty trained and can not speak. They are 49 and 47 years old and have been together since they were 14 and 17. She will not go to a shelter out of fear for her special needs daughter and will not come stay with me either and she is afraid he will turn on my family. He has guns and a horrible temper. He also threatens to kill himself often. He has had many online (not physical) affairs and is currently flirting and messaging a 14 year old girl that thinks he is 17. I am 100% sure that there are demons involved. Priests around here are vanilla and do not understand things like this. If you could somehow meet with him, or them maybe you could help. I understand that you are a busy man. I just don’t know where else to turn to or know of anyone else with your experience. There is a strong chance that they will be embarrassed and accept no help but we know miracles can happen.

Many Catholics live like very disordered lives because they don't know or follow JESUS. Your family has to decide out of their own free will to follow JESUS, then submit to the authority of the Catholic Church.

*Praying for your partner promotes fidelity. A study entitled “Faith and Unfaithfulness: Can Praying for Your Partner Reduce Infidelity?” discovered that praying for a partner actually reduced the likelihood of infidelity - Match Made in Heaven:Couples Who Pray Together Stay Together | Psychology Today *
Dr David Stoop writes: The National Association of Marriage Enhancement, in Phoenix, Arizona (www.nameonline.net) did a study and reported that when couples prayed together on a daily basis, less than 1% of those couples would end up getting a divorce. The numbers were 1 out of 1,156. Pretty amazing when the divorce rate in the general population is reportedly around 50%.
