I PROMISE TO SUPPORT YOU!
QUESTION?
I'm reporting for duty, Sir! Thanks for all you do for Holy Mother Church, I'm a long time listener to your talks & shows & just have a quick question. I am engaged to a beautiful woman and in planning our wedding she brought up the mexican traditions of arras (coins) and the lasso (rosary). I'm totally cool with the rosary but curious about arras. Is this church approved or do you know of any sketchy spiritual origins of this tradition? Any feedback would be great as I consider you an expert in Catholicism & Mexican tradition.
ANSWER!
Las "arras" is a beautiful hispanic Catholic tradition - where the groom gives the bride 13 coins, which symbolizes Jesus & the 12 apostles, the exchange of coins also represents the grooms promise to provide for his family and the brides trust in his ability to do so. Glad to hear your ON DUTY!
