"I am called to be faithful, not to be successful."
QUESTION?
My husband is in need of prayer but really my family needs help. My 3 son's don't practice but are worldly.I have 2 adults at home and failure to grow up and not working. One of them is rejecting his identity. I'm the only one in my home that practices my faith and who goes to mass. I want to do the Auxilium Christianorum prayers (https://jesseromero.com/store/lord-prepare-myhands-battle-book), but I am not sure if I can do them? My spouse has rejected me most if my marriage, he is very complacent and refuses to pray with me. Need help please. Thank you for listening. God Bless you for all you do for Christ.
ANSWER!
St Mother Teresa once said, "I am called to be faithful, not to be successful." In other words, you just be faithful to your teaching apostolate and leave the rest up to the Lord. Or as St Paul said: 1 Cor 3:5-9 "What then is Apol'los? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apol'los watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are equal, and each shall receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building."
Notice, WE plant (the Word of God) and water (pray for them) but only GOD causes the growth. HE IS A MIGHTY GOD who loves your children & husband, more than you do..
The best thing you can do for a lost soul (husband & children) is:
1) Share your Catholic Faith with them - most fundamentally, its a relationship with JESUS.
2) Pray for their conversion everyday, especially offer your Holy Communions for him at Sunday Mass.
3) Pray the chaplet of Divine Mercy for their at 3 pm everyday.
4) Be a good Catholic example and role model for them.
5) Be joyful, a joyful Catholic Christian is a contagious Catholic Christian.
Ultimately, he has to open his heart, God does not force his love on anybody. God is a perfect gentlemen, HE knocks at the door of our heart and we have to let him in. God is not a rapist, HE doesn't force his love on anyone.
