HOW DO WE KNOW THERE IS A HEAVEN?
QUESTION? / COMMENT!
What should I say to my Catholic elderly neighbor who says- how do we know there’s a heaven . Nobody has come back to tell us how great it is .
I know you’ll have concrete answers for me to respond to this neighbor.

1. Watch the video…now science has caught up…God is Light! The reason why God chose and wrote the 12 foundation stones in the New Kingdom! Fascinating! https://youtu.be/JhC6iPuh4XM
2. I would read every Bible verse from the New Testament - once you've read every verse then you can make an informed decision as to whether their is a heaven of not. Without reading every bible verse, you can't make a rational decision on this topic.
3. Several institutions and researchers have studied near-death experiences (NDEs), often focusing on their psychological, neurological, and sometimes spiritual aspects. Notable ones include:
- The University of Virginia: The Division of Perceptual Studies at the University of Virginia has conducted extensive research on NDEs, particularly through the work of Dr. Bruce Greyson, who has published numerous studies on the topic.
- The Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF): Founded by Dr. Jeffery Long, this organization collects and analyzes NDE accounts from individuals around the world, providing a platform for research and discussion.
- The International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS): A nonprofit organization dedicated to the study and support of NDEs, IANDS hosts conferences, publishes research, and provides educational resources on the subject.
- The Consciousness Research Laboratory at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA): Some researchers at UCLA have explored consciousness and related phenomena, including NDEs.
About 4 to 15% of the world's population has had a near death experience. They all see a light at the end, they feel enveloped in incredible love, they feel a peace unlike anything they have ever felt on earth. My final thought on your question. The eagle eyes of Saint John, piercing the heavens, described the Celestial Jerusalem, in a unique, unparalleled language, full of poetry and beauty. The Scriptures describes Heaven as a Holy City, made of precious stones, whose light is God Himself. ‘And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth was gone, and the sea is now no more. And I John saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice from the throne, saying: Behold the tabernacle of God with men, and he will dwell with them. And they shall be his people; and God himself with them shall be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and death shall be no more, nor mourning, nor crying, nor sorrow shall be any more, for the former things are passed away. And he that sat on the throne, said: "Behold, I make all things new." And he said to me: "Write, for these words are most faithful and true"’ (Apoc. 21:1-5).
