Gargoyles are mythical creatures that are evil, they represent demons. Remember Gargoyles statues were used in many medieval Church’s outside the perimeter of the roof to remind people of the reality of demons in the world. Also, many medieval saints preached during lent with a human skull on the pulpit with a sign that read: ‘Mememto Mori’ which means ‘remember you must die.’ These 3 days Oct 31, Nov 1 & Nov 2 would be a good day to discuss with friends and relatives about the 4 last things – death, judgment, heaven and hell.

Gnome's (dictionary.com) are an ageless and often deformed dwarf of folklore who lives in the earth and usually guards treasures.
