You are misreading the Holy Bible, you are doing 'eisegesis' which means your reading into the Bible your 'presuppositions' about a flat earth. No verses promote a flat earth cosmology. The book of Genesis is a primeval historical narrative interfaced with Hebrew poetry.

Question: Does the book of Genesis or some other book of the Bible say the Earth is flat?

Catholic Answers: No, the https://www.catholic.com/encyclopedia/bible Bible does not say that the Earth is flat. There are some common idioms the Bible uses that if    taken literally might give the impression that it’s claiming the Earth to be flat, but idioms are not meant to be taken literally. After all, if you tell me something outrageous and I say, “You’re pulling my leg!”, am I accusing you of a physical assault or accusing you of telling a fib or a joke? One such example is the expression “the four corner of the Earth.” This idiom is used only when expressing how far something is to travel (Rev. 20:8) or to emphasize the vastness of something (Is. 11:12). This phrase is also used simply as an expression of north, south, east, and west (Rev. 7:1). Even in biblical times, people usually traveled with a flat map that had four corners. If you were to travel to the places designated by the four corners of the map, that would indicate you are traveling “all over” the map, but it is still not an attempt to state a fact about the shape of the Earth. Another common idiomatic biblical expression is “the ends of the earth.” But once again, it is an expression of great distance and not an attempt at a factual statement. The reality is that most ancient people knew the Earth was a spherehttps://www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/how-to-answer-the-flat-earth-charge ; the only question was how large of a sphere. The idea that the Bible teaches the Earth is flat gained traction only in the Fundamentalist movement in the nineteenth century - https://www.catholic.com/qa/is-flat-earth-belief-biblical.

1. Dr. Robert Sungenis is a traditionalist Catholic and one of the greatest Catholic apologists in our lifetime, he has written on the book of Genesis as a theologian but he leans heavily on science as well. He wrote a book debunking the 'flat earth' theory, it’s called 'Flat Earth, Flat Wrong.' I recommend you read this book. Here is the pdf version of the book -https://kolbecenter.org/product/flat-earth-flat-wrong-an-historical-biblical-scientific-analysis-e-book-pdf/

2. Dinesh D'Souza (Stanford Scholar) writes about ‘The Flat Earth Fallacy’:
"According to the atheist narrative, the medieval Christians all believed that the earth was flat until the brilliant scientists showed up in the modern era to prove that it was round. In reality, educated people in the Middle Ages knew that the earth was round. In fact, the ancient Greeks in the fifth century B.C. knew the earth was a globe. They didn’t need modern science to point out the obvious. They could see that when a ship went over the horizon, the hull and the mast disappear at different times. Even more telling, during an eclipse they could see the earth’s shadow on the moon. Look fellas, it’s round!"

3. Dr Ronald Stark professor of sociology, author of book ‘FOR THE GREATER GLORY OF GOD’ published by Princeton University Press debunks College liberals with many facts of history such as:

  • It was the Catholic Church which gave the world science.
  • The Catholic Church never never taught the earth was flat (this is academic propaganda), the Fathers always taught the earth was a sphere even 1,000 years before Galileo.
