ELKS LODGE FREE MASONIC?

I had a question about the Elks Lodge being Masonic. I recently saw a blog you had said that they were Masons  or I guess they derived from the Freemasons. Would you be able to give me solid information about it? My in-laws are heavy Elks Lodge members. They’ve tried to get my husband Manny to be part of it. I’ve never had a good feeling about going to that Lodge for events. My mother-in law was the leader at one time and said they prayed to the Lord at their meetings. Yes my in-laws are Catholics. However, some of them aren’t practicing. Thank the Lord Manny never agreed and in fact now Manny is a Knight and will be becoming one but that doesn’t mean my family will go after him again to try and join, especially when he retires from being a California Fire Prevention Captain. I would really appreciate if I could get some backup to be able to prove that they are Freemasons. Thank you again for always respond to my emails when I ask.

Look at the Elks Lodge website, read their own literature and they admit they are part of the Freemasons and branched out from them. The admit it on their own websites or look at Elk Lodge wikipedia.com
