DOES A MOTHER HAVE AUTHORITY OVER AN ADULT SON?

April 29, 2020

QUESTION?

Do I still have authority, as his mother, over my adult son who is enslaved in mortal sin?  I have been praying imprecatory prayers for his deliverance, but I am unsure, since he no longer lives in my home, if I should be praying a deprecatory prayer. ( I learned the difference from listening to Jesus 911 and reading your blog).  I pray for his wife and children as well so they can be healed from the damage that is being done. Please help! What is a mother to do? I would be so grateful for any suggestions you may have. It has been heartbreaking to watch as the demons continue to slowly destroy my son and his relationships with his wife and children.  In my pride, I thought I could “reason” with him and he would stop. But he is chained and seems unable to break free.
As long as I have breathe, I will pray and sacrifice for his eternal soul, please help me battle wisely.

ANSWER!

Your question is, does a mother have spiritual authority over her children?

The answer is Yes, read the following three verses from Sacred Scripture.

*Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, that you may have a long life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”

*Colossians 3:20 “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord.”

*Ephesians 6:1-3 “Children, obey your parents [in the Lord], for this is right. “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise, “that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on earth.”

*Holy Hannah Presents her son Samuel (future prophet) to the Lord through Eli the High Priest who was the 2nd to the last of the Judges of Israel.

*1 Samuel 1:25-28 “…they brought the child to Eli. Then Hannah spoke up: “Excuse me, my lord! As you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here near you, praying to the LORD. I prayed for this child, and the LORD granted my request. Now I, in turn, give him to the LORD; as long as he lives, he shall be dedicated to the LORD.” Then they worshiped there before the LORD.”

*Holy Woman pray together for 9 days and the Holy Spirit responds to their prayer powerfully (cf. Acts 1:14; 2:1-3).

*Luke 2:51 “He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart.” Notice, Jesus who is GOD incarnated submits to the lawful authority of the 4th commandment that he wrote and placed knowledge of this commandment in every human heart as well.

*James 5:16 also tells us that “The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.” Your holiness of life and your intimacy with God is what makes your prayer powerful.

Pray the rosary, the divine mercy and the auxiliumchristianorum.org prayers everyday for him for the rest of your life. I will give St Pio the last word: “Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”
