Destroying a Ceremonial Masonic Sword
QUESTION? / COMMENT!
I need assistance. My father-in-law has a ceremonial Masonic sword which belonged to his great grandfather. He was a 30th degree mason and my father-in-law ended up with it. We are lifelong Catholics and have finally convinced him to allow me to remove it from his home and destroy it. Can I cut it apart with my grinder, sprinkle it with Holy Water and bury it?
ANSWER! / COMMENT!
Yes, once you bend it and disfigure it or cut it up, bury it outside your property.

How do I destroy a cursed object?

The Bible tells us what St Paul would do with cursed objects. In Acts 19:19-20 (RSV) it reads: “And a number of those who practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all; and they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew and prevailed mightily.”
After God punished the Egyptians with the Ten plagues, delivered them from bondage, parted the Red Sea, and fed the masses with manna, the people committed a great terrible sin by wanting to worship an idol like the heathen Egyptians. So, God informed Moses of what was happening in the camp and He threatened to destroy them for their unbelief. But Moses interceded on their behalf and descended from the mountain to deal with the people (Exodus 32:7–18). When Moses saw the apostasy in the camp, “his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces at the foot of the mountain” (Exodus 32:19). Moses did that because he felt the people were unworthy of God’s Holy and pure law. Then, Moses burned the golden calf, and scattered its ashes in the water, and made the Israelites drink it (Exodus 32:20). Moses wanted the people to see the futility of an idol (1 Cor. 8:4). If the calf could not save itself, it certainly could not save its worshipers (Ps. 115:3–9; Isa. 46:5–7)..
It would be best if you destroyed it yourself and not keep it in the house any longer. the process is basically bless, burn, bury. 1st pray a prayer of protection.
Step 1.
Prayer for Protection Against Curses, Harm, Accidents
Lord Jesus, I ask You to protect our family from sickness, from all harm and from accidents. If any of us has been subjected to any curses, hexes or spells, I declare these curses, hexes or spells null and void in the name of Jesus Christ. If any evil spirits have been sent against us, I decommission you in the name of Jesus Christ and I send you to Jesus to deal with as He will. Then, Lord, I ask You to send Your holy Angels to guard and protect all of us.('Deliverance Prayers for the laity' - Fr Ripperger p.29).
Step 2.
Bless; sprinkle holy water on the items three times intoning “in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, I _____________(your name), owner of these items do hereby sever and decommission any evil associated with or attached to these items, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, amen."
Step 3.
Burn the items completely, collect the ashes & put them in a bag or box.
Step 4.
Bury the ashes in a deserted place or throw them in running water (like a river).
Then pray a prayer against retaliation.
Step 5.
Prayer against Retaliation Lord Jesus Christ, in your love and mercy, pour Thy Precious Blood over me so that no demon or disembodied spirit may retaliate against me. Mary, surround me with the mantle, blocking any retaliating spirits from having any authority over me. St. Michael, surround me with thy shield, so that no evil spirit may take revenge on me. Queen of Heaven and St. Michael, send down the legions of angels under your command to fight off any spirits that would seek to harm me. All you saints of heaven, impede any retaliating spirit from influencing me. Lord, Thou art the Just Judge, the avenger of the wicked, the Advocate of the Just, we beg in thy mercy, that all we ask of Mary, the angels and the saints of heaven be also granted to all our loved ones, those who prayer for us and their loved ones, that for Thy Glory’s sake, we may enjoy Thy perfect protection. Amen (‘Deliverance Prayers for the Laity’ - p. 37).
