The Catholic Church Gives Us Moral Boundaries

October 25, 2022

QUESTION? / COMMENT!

What do I say when a person says that their private lives are being invaded by the church? They are baptized Catholics who are married outside the church and are going up to receive Communion. He, who is in my class, has been taught why not to receive. So the issue is not why not to go to Communion but why this is not invasion into their private lives...

ANSWER! / COMMENT!

The Catholic Church gives us moral boundaries called commandments, precepts, doctrines and dogmas in order to steer us towards heaven. If we followed our own disordered passions and fallen nature we would all end up in hell.

"The Church is pillar and foundation of truth" (1 Tim 3:15).

Our Lord said, "if you love me keep my commandments" (John 14:15).

Cities put stop signs, road signs, traffic lights, turning lanes etc not to make our life difficult, but to bring ORDER in the city of Queen Creek.  God and the Church give us moral ORDER if we choose to follow, if we don't, we will live a life of moral DISORDER. You can take that to the bank...
