Brown Scapular Vestiture/Enrollment Rules for a better understanding!

QUESTION?

I was enrolled in the Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel in 2018. I've been wearing  it every day, but my scapular broke, and I'm going to get a new one. My question is, if I wear a new scapular, am I still enrolled in the brown scapular, or do I have to get enrolled again? Thanks for your help!

ANSWER!

If you already have gone through a vestiture by a priest (Procedure for Vestiture, see links) then you do not need to be re-vested. Your vestiture is for life. If your scapular no longer is functional and needs to be replaced you can obtain another brown scapular and have it blessed if you have been vested.
