*BISHOP: PROTECT STATUES  Bishop Donald Hying of Madison, WI, denounced rioters for targeting statues of historical figures. “Should certain statues be placed in museums or storage? Perhaps. Should we let a group of vandals make those decisions for us? No,” Bishop Hying said. “If we allow the commemorative and visual history of our nation to be destroyed by random groups in the current moment of anger, how will we ever learn from that history?”  https://www.complicitclergy.com/2020/06/25/i-cannot-remain-silent-madisons-bishop-catholic-bishop-condemns-destruction-of-religious-statues/

FIGHTING THE MOB  A group of Catholics banded together to protect the statue of Saint Junipero Serra in front of Ventura City Hall as a crowd threatened to topple the statue. “Event participants harassed and taunted those in support of the statue, disparaging the opinions, religion, race, and personal appearance of those they disagreed with,” reported Mary Rose. https://www.facebook.com/SanAntonioFamilyAssociation/posts/3025982087518031

*STATUE DEBATE  President Trump said that he can understand if some statues are removed and placed in museums. “I can understand certain things being taken down, but they ought to go through a process legally. And then we take it down and, [in] some cases, put them in museums or wherever they may go, but these are really rioters, and [there's] a lot of bad people involved," Trump said.  https://www.theepochtimes.com/some-statues-can-come-down-through-a-legal-process-trump-says_3403004.html

*STATUES MOVED  Two statues of Saint Junipero Serra have been moved from a Catholic mission and church in southern California amid fears of vandalism as protests around the state continue to topple statues. “The statue was moved to ensure its protection and was relocated to also ensure its continued access to the public,” said the Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano in a Facebook post. The basilica was built in 1986 to accommodate the growing local community. The mission was established by Saint Serra in 1776.  https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/san-juan-capistrano-mission-relocates-st-junipero-serra-statues-for-protection-34899

*DESECRATION  Vandals defaced an image of the Black Madonna in Breda, Netherlands. The city's mayor said the incident was “particularly sad for the Polish community, for which the monument is of great value.” The Polish 1st Armored Division, led by General Stanislaw Maczek, freed the city on Oct. 29, 1944. The city awarded Maczek honorary Dutch citizenship, and when he died in 1994, he was buried alongside the fallen soldiers at a cemetery in the city.  https://victorygirlsblog.com/black-madonna-defaced-netherlands/
