BINDING PRAYERS FOR MY CHILDREN
QUESTION? / COMMENT!
This morning after mass during the rosary a woman inserted a prayer “I bind my family to your immaculate heart”. I think she was referring to a prayer in the Magnificat this Thursday (Saint Louise de Marrillac) which said, “When parents say the rosary, at the end of each decade they should hold the rosary aloft and say to our Lady, “ With these beads bind my children to your immaculate heart””. I think inserting the “I” in the prayer is problematic as well as the authority structure may also be problematic as her children are above the age of majority with families. Does this open one up for attack and because this was said as a group saying the rosary does this open us all up even if we did not say the prayer ourselves?

I believe it is safe to say it because it was taught by a Saint, so that settles it for me. But your right, technically, when the children have reached the age of majority you should say, "with these beads, may the Lord bind my children to your immaculate heart."
