ASK YOUR HUSBAND

QUESTION?

I am 35 years old and have been blessed to be a lifelong Catholic. I have been married almost three years and have a beautiful 1 1/2 year old son. Since having my son I have really tried my best to become more committed to my faith and I find myself longing for the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM). I try to read good books on our faith and I pray the rosary in Latin every day. However, I am married to a man who works for one of the two bishops in our state. He is not very happy that I have become so very passionate about the TLM and doesn’t want me to attend what few masses I can find. He said I am purposely going against the pope. He gets very angry when I point out the contradictions that the pope and bishops make from the faith.  It has caused a HUGE rift in our marriage. I am not very smart when it comes to many things in the faith and my husband has a masters in theology, that being said I know that this is right . I don’t have anyone to talk to . What should I do? I am afraid that this will lead to a divorce .

ANSWER!

If your husband is leading you to sin than you must resist him with all your being. If he is a man of faith and leading you towards Christ you must submit to him. I recommend a book called "Ask Your Husband" by Stephanie Gordon - TAN books https://tanbooks.com/products/books/life-family/marriage/ask-your-husband-a-catholic-guide-for-femininity/ . Problems in marriage occur because people don't know their role in marriage and don't stay in their lane.
