The Scandals In The Church
Product description
(3 CDs)
As we’ve entered the Third Millennium, the Catholic Church has generated big headlines and the detractors and haters of the Catholic Church are having a field day with reports of scandals. Most of these scandals involve priests engaging in acts of ephebophilia. This is an unspeakable sin, and in priests, it is truly an abomination.
You can be sure that, as Catholics, you will be asked questions about this problem. How will you respond? First, you acknowledge the problem and then, GET THE FACTS! In this three-lecture CD set, listen as Jesse Romero puts these scandals into their proper context.
As he examines the biblical evidence, Jesse shows where the Israelites engaged in scandals involving the leaders of the Old Testament religion (Jer. 32:32-25; 2 Kings 23:7) and why it’s important to remember that of the 12 apostles, one betrayed Christ, one denied Him, one refused to believe in His Resurrection and they all abandoned Him at the Garden of Gethsemane.
Jesse then clarifies why the Catholic Church is both human and divine; how it can have scandals, but yet will last forever. As Arnold Lunn stated, "The Church is not only the nursery of the saints, but a hospital for sinners.”
Then, Jesse shows why scandals do not "prove" that the Catholic Church is not the True Church, but only proves what is obvious: that the Church contains saints and sinners, sheep and goats, wheat and weeds, good fish and bad fish and why our Lord makes it clear that both will co-exist until the end of time. (Matthew 13:24-30)
As Jesse says, “It's easier for anyone to attack the Catholic Church because we are ONE. We are a 'city set on a hill' as noted in Matthew 5:14 – and disunity among our separated brothers and sisters is one characteristic that makes a focused attack against them more difficult. I say this in love for all of them and my great hope, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, is that we will one day be united as Christ our Savior intended."
