The Ministerial Priesthood Debate
DEBATE: Is There A Ministerial Priesthood In The New Testament?
Jesse Romero, M.A. (Catholic-Christian Apologist) vs. Rev. John Deron Johnson (Protestant pastor)
Listen as popular Catholic apologist/evangelist Jesse Romero defends the Catholic Church in a debate with Pastor John Deron Johnson.
In this debate, Jesse Romero defends and explains the doctrine of the Ministerial (Catholic) Priesthood and Pastor John Johnson takes the position of denying that such a doctrine exists.
"Pastor" Johnson defends the doctrine of the ‘priesthood of all believers’ as the only type of priesthood taught within the pages of the New Testament. Jesse Romero understands that like many non-Catholics, Johnson believes that there are no biblical foundations for what the Catholic Church teaches and that too many Catholics are not prepared to refute that belief.
However, as Pope Leo XIII once stated, "The first law of history is not to dare to utter falsehood; the second, not to fear to speak the truth" and as Scripture so clearly affirms, “But in your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence…” (1 Peter 3:15)
In this 2-CD set, Jesse clearly demonstrates, from the New Testament itself, that Our Lord Jesus Christ set up a New Testament government that parallels the Old Testament government that included a High Priest, a Ministerial Priest and the Common Priest (the laity).
In this presentation, learn:
- The art of "explaining the Catholic faith intelligently, defending it charitably and sharing it effectively"
- The mountain of evidence for the Ministerial (Catholic) Priesthood as found in the New Testament
- How apologetics helps anchor us to the rock-solid truths of 2,000 years of Christianity
- The tools to explain why the Christianity of history is not Protestantism
