Is listening to music with lyrics that take the Lord’s name in vain a mortal or venial sin?
ANSWER! / COMMENT!
If you had full knowledge that the lyrics contained words that take the Lords name in vain and you by your own free will still choose to listen knowing that this is an offense against the 1st commandment then you committed mortal sin. If you did NOT know any of this before you listened then it is a venial sin.
